Heritage Movement Rebuild

Questions we often hear
How long does a standard service take?
Most standard services are completed within two to four weeks. The exact duration depends on the movement's condition and parts availability. We will let you know of any delay as soon as we are aware of it.
Do you service all types of mechanical watches?
We work with mechanical and automatic movements from most established makers. We handle both everyday wearers and collectible or inherited pieces. If you are unsure whether your watch is suitable, bring it in — we'll take a look at no charge.
What is included in the written condition note?
The condition note records what we found when we examined your watch — the state of the movement, any worn components, and anything worth monitoring in the future. It is provided before work begins and is yours to keep regardless of whether you proceed.
Will refinishing remove the patina from my vintage watch?
Not without your agreement. Before any refinishing work, we discuss exactly what you would like — and what you would prefer to preserve. Many collectors prefer to keep the natural wear. We only work to what is agreed, and we refinish selectively if that suits the piece better.
What happens if parts are no longer in production?
For heritage movements with obsolete parts, we discuss options with you directly — whether to source compatible alternatives, have parts fabricated, or conserve what is there. We don't proceed without your knowledge of the situation and your agreement on the approach.
How do I hand over my watch safely?
The most straightforward way is to visit us at the workshop in Phra Sing. We record the watch on arrival and provide a receipt. If you are not nearby, contact us first and we can discuss a suitable arrangement for delivery and return.
